Our sweet little peanut turned 2 this weekend (on March 19 at 1:25am to be exact)!

We celebrated his actual birthday with "good morning balloons", homemade blueberry waffles, some indoor rides on his new balance bike, and a lunch outing with Mommom and CharliePop to Grotto for his favorite: pizza!

Then on Sunday we had a special Easter Bunny-themed birthday party to celebrate his special day with family and friends. We had to keep Isaac busy in the morning while we got ready for our guests. Isaac spent the morning in his jammies and insisted on wearing his new helmet. He played with some new toys, enjoyed helping himself to some party snacks, and sipped on some coconut water...all while keeping his noggin nice and protected.
Mommy googled Easter dates for the next 18 years, and this is the closest Isaac's birthday will ever be to Easter, so we took advantage of such an early Easter and went bunny crazy with a "bunny food" veggie spread, "bunny tails" (marshmallows), a carrot shaped cheeseball, and an abundance of bunny decorations.
The weather even cooperated just long enough for Isaac and his little friends to go out for a quick, cold, color-coded egg hunt, complete with bunny ears and ending with a few snowflakes. Isaac had a lot of fun looking for eggs with his buddies Declan, Jarrett, and Victor.

Of course we had to have carrot cake cupcakes. This was Isaac's first "real" cake/icing experience and he seemed to really enjoy it! Here's a VIDEO of everyone singing Happy Birthday.
Before we sang, CharliePop shared a special birthday blessing he wrote just for his favorite grandson.
Isaac received a lot of a wonderful toys and clothes from his special guests. Gift opening was quite a hectic whirlwind this year with Isaac being a bit all over the place going from one gift to the next, stopping to give thank you hugs, and having a hard time understanding that we'd be able to play with each of the fun toys after opening everything.

Super excited for the arrival of a new horse to ride on!
After the party as Mommom was helping to clean up, we caught Isaac being naughty and tossing some of Mommy's Easter decorations on the ground. Mommom told him no and said, "that's not very nice!" To which Isaac seemed to mock her in his little toddler voice, repeating, "that's not very nice. that's not very nice." like a cute (and a bit bratty) little parrot! After the party, CharliePop also dressed him up in the "Big Eyes" (minion) Orioles shirt he got for Isaac (he saw it in a store window and just had to get it for him!)
And as we wrapped up the evening, we threw in the towel for any possible parent-of-the-year awards as we let Isaac munch on the rest of his loaf of birthday cake and watch some Little Baby Bum videos, all per his very adamant request. And instead of putting away new birthday toys, I sat on the floor and documented this sight.

On Monday we had our 2-year well visit. Isaac clocked in at 25 pounds in the 50th percentile for weight and 35.5 inches in the 75th percentile for height. Isaac was happy to address "Dr. Beams" over and over again, and show her his new Buzz Lightyear he insisted on bringing to his appointment (and everywhere else we went that day!). After our appointment we went out to a nearby breakfast shop and shared a balsamic strawberry crepe. And once we got home we had some fun out on the driveway riding around on his new balance bike and breaking in his new sidewalk chalk. Doesn't he look so cute in his new fireman jacket from Sandy and helmet? He looks like such a big boy!
