A Weekend with Mommom & CharliePop

Daddy and Mommy went away this past weekend for Debbie & Randy's Las Vegas Leap Day wedding, so Isaac (and the dogs) got to spend a long weekend at Mommom & CharliePop's house.  They did a great job sending frequent text and email photo updates, so this blog entry will mostly consist of the photos and messages they sent to Mommy and Daddy.

We dropped Isaac off Saturday afternoon after his nap.  When he went down for his nap Isaac asked for Buster, which he has never done before, and it was really cute how he snuggled up with him and went to sleep.

Then, before we left Isaac at Mommom & CharliePop's we got to see the fun playhouse they had made for him. Isaac loved having a little space to himself and immediately got settled inside reading a book!

After that we said our farewells, and the rest of the photos and text are direct quotes from Mommom & CharliePop.

02.27.16: Hi Mommy!

2.27.16: Brushing Teeth

This lasted about 20 seconds for each shot.  At least he had the brush in his mouth.  He did it willingly, how effective it was is debatable

P.S. He was wailing at the top of his lungs after reading to him.  The musical thing on the crib was not working.  Changed the batteries and got it going.  Within a few minutes , he was completely quiet.   He was probably down by 7:37 “ish” .  Diaper was loaded (mom was working that end)

02.28.16: Doxie Sleepover

Eli,
As you can see they have managed to place themselves so they maximize the space available. Sometime overnight Lady  moved and was on the floor in Libby’s bed

02.28.16: Good Morning!

Eli,
First thing this a.m.   A few minutes after this was taken we were informed that there were “poopies”.

02.28.16: Coming Down to Breakfast

Eli,
He held on to the rail the entire way down.  I was with him on the first trip down, put him back up so we could get some “posed” shots.

02.28.16: Going to Church?

Eli,
Needed to get some stuff out of the back of my truck and left the door open, I turned around and there he was, he was very excited and very disappointed when  had to get him to get in the vehicle with the car seat.

02.28.16: We Are At Church

Eli,
Both of us got a little restless and we took a walk after I did the Intercessions, we walked around outside, got some shots around the church to “prove” that we were there.
The last shot is at a house across the parking lot from the church, you may be able to see a swing on the other side of the tree , we had a request to “UP” in the swing, and we got a little swing time in.

02.28.16: Lunchtime...bagel & soup

Cold...

02.28.16: Up From My Nap

Eli,
He went down around 1:45 and got up around 3:30 ish.  This is him getting up after calling for mom-mom.  Had a diaper change with “poopie” (advance notice was provided by the dispenser of the Poopie).

02.28.16: Day in the Park

Eli,
        1.Off on an adventure.

2. A little swing time. Really high, really fast, lots of giggles.

3.We have met various trees , none were suitable for climbing, found this one, very happy to have a little  tree time.

02.29.16: Good Morning!

Eli,
He eventually displayed a little more cheerfulness .this is a “first look “ in the morning shot.   Your mother has him all day today, any updates will need to come from  her.

02.29.16: Playdate at Annapolis Mall with Ms. Nora and Ashlynn

*end of Mommom & CharliePop updates*

Pretty good collection of updates! Even though she was having lots of fun, Mommy got super excited with every email and text notification and really appreciated all of the updates! xoxo

Due to a canceled flight and then a delayed layover during our new flight, we got home much later than we hoped/expected.  We barely got home in time for Mommy to run and get Isaac, the dogs and the many, many bags right before bedtime.  With the exception of an annoying Pizza Screaming episode at dinner that night, it sounds like Isaac, Mommom & CharliePop had a great time together!

After being extra sweet and snuggly at bedtime, Isaac went down very peacefully with Hoot back at home in his own crib. He gave Mommy SO many hugs and eskimo kisses!

The next morning, Isaac had fun hanging out in Mommy's luggage. And when Mommy said, "smile for Mommom" Isaac hopped up happily and came over searching Mommy's phone for Mommom.

Isaac and the dogs have been a bit clingy this week. There was a total lack of personal space on Friday night as we cuddled on the couch after naptime.

We're a little behind on blogging, so here are also some happenings from BEFORE we left for Vegas:

Last weekend we had a family dinner at East Moon Asian Bistro where Isaac happily looked at the menu, and gobbled down some sushi.

That same weekend we also went to the bank to get something notarized. Isaac was really good and content while we were in the bank, but as soon as we got up to leave he got very upset, crying "Baaank! Baaaank!" the whole way out the door. Pretty embarrassing! We were able to cheer him up with a quick visit to Gerstel to see Mommom. He was so happy to see Mommom and to check out her cool office.

We visited with Mom-mom-mom and (Uncle) Tony a few times where Isaac has become an expert at pitifully begging for food.

We went with Debbie to pick up her dress and Mommy taught Isaac to say, "Pretty, Debbie!" when she came out in her dress. Isaac also made a friend with a flowergirl who was there for a dress fitting.  She was thrilled to chat with her new friend "Isaan" and asked her aunt if he could be invited to her wedding. Awkward

When we got home Isaac had fun showing Debbie his favorite parts from Baby Bum, and Debbie had fun taking advantage of Isaac's full absorption with Baby Bum and staged a wine-holding picture.

We had lots of Mommy-Isaac selfies as well...

And of course silly moments with the dogs. Isaac was not at all interested in this plain yogurt we were giving him as a snack, so we offered it to the dogs so it didn't go to waste. Suddenly Isaac became interested in the yogurt and tried eating it just like the dogs were.

We had several of our weekly Mommy-Son breakfast dates.  One week we went to Bagels & Grinds so Isaac could have a cheese bagel. He really enjoyed it! He also had fun standing next to one of the super tall basketball players that had come in, barely coming to his knee!

We also had another outing to Willy's the week before where Isaac had another bagel and also a huge bowl of yogurt, granola and fruit.  Mommy shared half his bagel, but Isaac ate every last bite of what you see in this picture! As we were finishing up, Ms. Gwen from St. Clement happened to stop in and asked if she could join us, so we wound up staying for an additional hour catching up with her while she ate lunch. Isaac was surprisingly good spending all of that time in a restaurant highchair.

On Friday, Isaac got to spend the morning at Kelly's house where he had fun playing, reading books and watching a movie with Declan.  After we got home Isaac was happy to tell Mommy how much fun he had with Kay-ee (Kelly), Dec-eck (Declan) AND Bale (Bailey).

There have been various fun moments around the house. Here is a VIDEO of him trying to figure out how his mechanical dachshund works.

He also had fun exploring some more of the toys Ms. Donna passed down to him from her grandkids.

We realized recently that Isaac refers to himself as "Acky". Here's a cute selfie VIDEO of him interacting with himself.

I tried to take a subtle video of Isaac identifying different things from his picture book to help Mommom & CharliePop get a better feel for his pronunciation of things, but Isaac quickly caught on and began to happily and proudly interact with himself on this VIDEO.

Isaac has been really excited about owls lately, so Mommy got him a special stuffed owl as a treat for being away from him for the longest time they'd ever been apart. He was very happy with Hoot the Owl.

Perhaps one of the biggest "events" of the week was when Mommy went to get Isaac in the morning to discover he had managed to climb out of his crib and had perched himself on the changing table.  He was quite proud of himself! Thanks to some tips from other moms, Mommy got the idea to move the crib mattress all the way down to the floor in the crib, lowering Isaac another foot, but still keeping him safely contained in the crib walls for hopefully a few more...years!

And for documenting purposes, here are a few pictures from Mommy & Daddy's weekend in Vegas! Even though we missed our babies, we had a lot of fun with our friends celebrating Debbie & Randy.
