Marvelous May

A very quick and potentially inaccurate overview of how we spent May 2017! To start, here are a few videos from the month:

  • Perhaps one of Mommy's favorite videos thus far, Isaac was in the tub for the longest time taking an empty Dr. Bronner's bottle and holding it underwater while it filled and then dumping it out. He began to count how long it took to fill it up, and that is when Mommy started filming:

  • Then there's this funny and random video of Isaac eating applesauce. Mommy just thought he looked so adorable shoveling spoonfuls in his mouth (with his left hand!), and then he managed to turn the documentary into a comedy when he spilled some on his shirt and proceeded to clean it up.

One of the Sundays in May we celebrated Mother's day. We had everyone over for a boozy brunch that the girls put together for Mommom and Aunt Margie.  After brunch we made terrariums. Right before leaving, Isaac and Declan had an impromptu jam session.

The weekend of Mother's Day (I think?) we went to Mommom & CharliePop's for crabs. Isaac was more concerned about eating his corn than posing for pictures. He really enjoyed the bites of crab meat Mommom was kind enough to pick for him, and he also inhaled some ice cream afterwards.

"No pictures!

We went to a Memorial Day cookout at Abi's house, where Isaac had another band practice with Jarrett and sang karaoke. Isaac was the last kid guest at the party, and towards the end of the evening he got cuddled up in blankets with Liv and Mira and watched some Peppa Pig while requesting a sleepover. Earlier in the evening, Mommy was in Liv's room while she "played" guitar. Isaac eventually entered, looking a big jealous of the situation and glared at Liv and demanded, "Old MacDonald!" before Mommy could intervene about his rude tone, Liv didn't miss a beat and matter-of-factly responded with, "Ok. But we're only doing one animal. It's late and I'm tired!" Isaac was satisfied with this compromise, and Liv proceeded to "perform" the song request.

Also in May was Mommy's "fancy wedding dress party" that she went to with some of her old teacher friends. They basically wore wedding and bridesmaid dresses and went on a little pub crawl. Isaac was adorably excited to see Mommy in her wedding dress, telling her she looked like a princess, asking her to spin, and requesting to hug her.

The great weather in May also gave us lots of opportunities to use our MD state park pass and visit different playgrounds at Patapsco. A couple Fridays we picked up a pizza at Sorrento's after school and went to the park for dinner and to play. Daddy parked outside the park one time and met us inside where Isaac made the long dramatic run across the field to greet him.

We also ended another outing with a (very dramatic) trip to Chik-fil-A for a milkshake. Even a small milkshake is way too big for a 3-year-old, so thanks to Isaac still rear facing in his car seat, Mommy was able to sneak in some gulps before they got home, leaving Isaac none-the-wiser!

May ended with Mommom having a very big surgery on her arm. The night before her surgery Mommom and CharliePop met Mommy and Isaac (on his way home from school) at the Wednesday food truck gathering at the fire station. I remember Isaac had some pretty funny observations that night, but I can't seem to remember any of them at the moment!

Big, two-armed hugs and kisses goodbye!!

An outing to Kinder Farm:

He literally said, "Mommy, I will stand on that rock and you can take my picture".

Isaac got this spectacular one-piece bathing suit with swim cap from Mommom for Easter. We finally got around to trying it on, and Isaac was ecstatic about it! He happily ran around the house, insisting on keeping it on while he played, sang karaoke, and ate dinner.

He also loves in gator robe from Mommom.

The month of May also had it's fair share of lounging!
