Memorial Day Weekend

Isaac enjoyed a pretty relaxing Memorial Day weekend. It started with some babysitting with Poppop while Mommy went to the gym. Yet again, Mommy came home to a very quiet house and this is what she saw:

We had a little lazy Saturday relaxing in bed for a bit making funny faces, then Isaac joined Mommy and Liz for some shopping. Isaac spent the afternoon with Daddy watching the O's game while Mommy went on her first postpartum bike ride with Debbie.
Good morning stretches!

let's go O's!

Isaac joined Daddy at church again to listen to Mommy play piano.  He stayed awake this time and everyone around seemed to enjoy being able to finally see his eyes. Then we went to aunt Kim's for dinner to celebrate her birthday.

On Monday the three of us went on our first family hike on the Trolley Trail. A beautiful 3 mile trek from Catonsville to Ellicott City. Isaac preferred to be carried during most of this walk, so Mommy and Daddy took turns walking with a 10 pound weight while the other pushed an empty stroller.

We ended the nice long weekend with a visit at Mommom's.

2 months +4 lbs

Little Isaac is 2 months old today and we had quite a busy day! We started at "Baby & Mommy Yoga".  Isaac was a little cranky during this time and spent the first part of the class fussing, the middle part of the class sleeping, and the last part of the class eating. So maybe yoga isn't for us just yet!

off to yoga--still squeezing into newborn clothes

Then we went to Isaac's 2-month checkup where he weighed in at 10 lbs 5 oz putting him in just the 20th percentile for weight and 50th for height.  Dr. Beams seemed very happy with his growth and development so far.

Finally it was home for our 2 month photo shoot...

Mother's Day Weekend

So greatful that Isaac gets to know both of his grandmothers AND two great-grandmothers!

Wow, what a great first Mother's Day weekend! On Saturday, Daddy hosted a dinner for all the moms with the help of Buddy & Corey. Together they prepared a full spread of yummy food with minimal support from their significant others. They also did ALL of the clean up...dishes, packing up leftovers, etc. which was a really nice treat!

So many amazing moms in one family!

Isaac got to spend some more time with his big cousin Declan.  Declan still isn't quite sure what to make of this little guy yet, but he did say his name and contemplated giving him some kisses. (Isaac didn't make it easy for him by being fussy and even swinging a punch!) I didn't realize Isaac's name could sound so adorable until hearing Declan's rendition. We caught it on video along with a quick little kiss!:

Isaac got to spend time in a lot of loving arms throughout the night...

Then on Sunday we surprised Mommom at church where Mommy was quickly recruited to play piano, so again Daddy was in charge of taking care of Isaac, who was pretty good with just some minor fussing (and Isaac was pretty good too. har-har).

Then back home where Daddy prepared a brunch spread, using the recipe for hasbrown egg nests that Mommy requested. Mommy enjoyed a mom-osa while Isaac took a nice long nap and Daddy cooked.

We ended the weekend with a nice family walk with the dogs and Isaac got to sport his cool new shades.

Mommy's guys were pooped out after working so hard to make Mommy's first Mother's Day so special.
