First Word

We were having a lazy Sunday morning after a fun but nail-biting evening of having friends over to watch the Ravens/Patriots playoff game (great game even though we lost).  Isaac was happily going back and forth between Mommy, Daddy, and the dogs so we were carefully enunciating the name of each: dog-gy, ma-ma, da-da when all of a sudden we heard in the cutest baby voice, "da-da-da-da"! Daddy and I looked at each other with a "did you hear what I heard?" look, and then we kept hearing it over and over. We both instantly thought he was saying Dadda for Daddy, however as the day went on and we kept trying to get him to repeat it it became unclear if he was saying Dadda for Daddy or da for dog.  Either way it's pretty cute and we're excited to see what he might say next.

Here is a shaky VIDEO of Isaac saying his first word before and after trying to grab hold of Allie.

Trying to capture some video footage was pretty comical as Isaac seemed to wait between takes to actually say his new word.  Here is a VIDEO clip of the "blooper reel".

In the process of trying to record his first word Mommy also caught another new trick on VIDEO of Isaac climbing up the step from his playroom into the family room.

In other news, we had a Ravens-watching party on Saturday and while we didn't win, we got to spend time with a lot of family and friends.  During the day Mommy was on her own to get the house together while Daddy was at a Robotics Competition and Isaac sure was giving Mommy a run for her money with crawling the step, pulling out all sorts of toys, and crawling over his highchair.

Then on Sunday we went to a Kwanzaa celebration at Moe & Melissa's house.  Isaac got to try some new fruits he hadn't had yet like blueberries and grapes.  And to finalize a great but cold weekend, Daddy has a 2-hour delay on Monday!
