"Trot along to [Linthicum]..."

Isaac is up to some new tricks this weekend. He finally figured out how to walk with his Radio Flyer push cart. Up until this week, Isaac would only use the handle as an occasional chew toy. On Saturday morning, Isaac climbed into his cart and pulled himself up on the handle.

So then Mommy decided to try and see if Isaac would walk and push the cart, and he instantly cooperated and got the hang of it! We started with just some short stretches in the house, but once he got the hang of that and quickly ran out of space running into the walls, we took him out front so he could walk the whole length of the front sidewalk.  He has an adorable strut, lifting his knees high and sashaying his hips a bit.  Mommom Patti, CharliePop, and Grandpa Larry all got to see him in action and were quite impressed! He looks like he's ready to learn how to mow the lawn!

The beautiful weather this weekend also gave us the chance for some (pants-less) water table time.  Isaac really got a kick out of spinning the water wheel and spraying water all over.  He also was very interested in Mommy's potted rosemary and managed to pull himself off a sample.

With Isaac getting into more and more things around the house we often have to put the dogs' water bowls up high, out of Isaac's reach. Unfortunately this often leaves the dogs without water for indefinite periods of time as we frequently forget to put the bowls back down. Allie subtly pointed out her dehydration the other day by very carefully leaning over the edge of the pond and taking a drink (which she's never done before).  Ironically, that same day, Isaac also leaned into his water table and tried to take a drink as well.

While Isaac was showing his new trick to Grandpa, Mommy went inside leaving Isaac with Daddy and Grandpa.  Suddenly she heard both Grandpa and Daddy exclaim loudly and laugh.  It turns out Isaac found a caterpillar and had picked it up and had it crawling all over his hand. Just as Daddy was getting ready to take a picture of this first son & critter encounter, Isaac swiftly put the caterpillar in his mouth! Daddy assured Mommy he got it all out and that the caterpillar even crawled away completely intact.

This week Mommy tried some new recipes for Isaac to try and make meal times go a bit more efficiently.  She made pomegranate oatmeal breakfast muffins, egg, sausage & veggie frittata muffins, and kale, sweet potato, carrot & apple-pear pouches.  He seems to be enjoying all of them!

If you look past the green mushy mess you can see his two new teeth
