Here you go, Mommy!

Isaac is really keeping us on our toes with his growing list of words and phrases, with a favorite being, "Here you go, Mommy!" whenever he is giving something to or receiving something from Mommy.  Daddy has also been working with him to say "good morning", and when Mommy got home the other night, she heard Isaac repeatedly exclaiming from the other room, "Mommy's home! Mommy's home!", and was welcomed by a very happy, dancing Isaac. What a nice greeting! Some other phrases are, "hey dude", "more ____, please", "thank you", and "uh-oh!"

Aunt Margie gave Isaac a Mr. Potato Head for Valentine's Day, and Isaac spent a great deal of time over the weekend playing with it.  Here is a "selfie VIDEO" of Isaac showing off his new toy.

Speaking of "selfie videos", it seems to be one of Isaac's favorite things to watch himself on selfie mode.  Here's another cute VIDEO of Isaac watching himself, and eventually showing off some body parts too.

Last week when we went to Toddler Time at the library they gave out little dinosaur volcano science experiment kits. We first tried it by adding water as the instructions said to do, but after not getting a reaction, Daddy made some changes and we tried again using more baking soda with the provided "eruption powder" and vinegar instead of water. Isaac was equally indifferent to both trials.  Here is a VIDEO of take 1, and a VIDEO of take 2.

On Valentine's Day morning, Isaac was really excited to open his gifts, giving out a very enthusiastic, "Whoaaa!" when he looked in his gift bag and saw the Abby Cadabby & Elmo bus. Here is a VIDEO. As we got ready for church, we heard Isaac happily playing in his crib, repeating, "Elmo, Abby...vroom-vroom-vroom!"

At breakfast he grabbed his Valentine's Day card from Aunt Margie off the counter and insisted on "reading" it while he ate his omelet and protein flapjacks.

After church and running some errands, we had a quick visit with Mommom & CharliePop. Isaac was so cute hiking up the steep driveway with his new Elmo/Abby bus.  He had a good time opening his gift from Mommom & CharliePop - a huge stuffed dog, and 5 different varieties of apples. Another "whoaaaa"-worthy gift!

On Valentine's evening we spent the night in with a homemade surf & turf family dinner, with filet mignon from Treuth's and crabcakes made with (thoroughly researched by Daddy) Maryland crabmeat.  For dessert we had some Valentine's cookies...Mommy's first (very rushed and distracted) attempt at decorating sugar cookies.

On President's Day Daddy made us blueberry waffles with the new waffle iron he got Mommy for Valentine's Day.  After breakfast we did a quick foam sticker craft with owls and hearts. (Owls seems to be one of Isacc's favorite animals at the moment.)

The snow/ice that came through earlier this week mixed with an under-the-weather Daddy, made for lots of time for snuggles this week too.

The other night Isaac insisted on continuing to eat his apple from dinner while in the tub.  He actually did a pretty good job playing with bath toys with one hand while eating his apple with the other. That is, until Isaac announced there was "poopy" in the tub. And grossly enough, even though this isn't the first time this has happened, it was the first time Isaac was actually upset by there being poop in the tub. Even after we quickly removed him from the tub and assured him it was ok, he was still very upset and concerned as we cleaned him off and got him dressed for bed. And the next morning he went into the bathroom and with great concern looked in the tub asking about "poopy".

And in closing, Mommy's favorite picture from the week: Isaac dancing with his arms in his overalls.  He cheesed for the camera when he saw Mommy getting ready to take a picture.
