Happy Easter!

Sweet Sir Isaac had a good 2nd Easter. On Saturday he came to church with Daddy to hear Mommy's singing debut.  Even though their plan was to only stay until Mommy's song, they were still at church until 8:30, well past Isaac's bedtime.  He was in very happy spirits the whole time though, dancing to the music, and having fun with Mrs. Barb and others sitting around him.  When Mommy started her song he instantly recognized it (from all of the times she practiced it at home!) and just relaxed in Daddy's arms while he listened.  Here is a rough recording here. You can hear Isaac chime in toward the end.

On Easter morning, Isaac "found" his Easter basket and checked out the goodies the Easter bunny brought him.  He really liked his shaker eggs and sippy cup, but his favorite seemed to be his electric toothbrush.  I think we brushed his teeth 5 times on Easter!  While Isaac napped and Daddy rested (he woke up not feeling well), Mommy unexpectedly rushed to church to play for Easter mass because the musician she scheduled never showed up.  When she arrived she found out her tire was very flat.  What a morning!

When Isaac woke up from his nap he went on a special outing with CharliePop to visit Grandma Gloria and the Ernsts.  This gave Mommy and Daddy time to finish getting ready for everyone coming over for Easter dinner. Luckily everyone was bringing something there wasn't much that needed to be done.

We'll get a proper dining table one of these days that can fit all 15+ of us, but here is some of our Easter decor.

After a yummy dinner with pork, asparagus, apples, potatoes, beans, and bread (but not Mommom's coleslaw which we forget in the fridge! Oops!) we hung out in the fireplace room.  Isaac had lots of nice presents to open.  He got some more fun toys and very cute spring/summer outfits. In between trying to open gifts (he's still trying to figure out that whole process) he kept crawling over to the sunroom door and peaking out to find Allie, and then giggling when he spotted her. He'd crawl back over to his presents, and then back to the door to laugh at Allie. Back and forth, many, many times. Everyone thought it was very funny...except for Allie. He also wore his new saddle shoes, but was very stubborn when we tried to have him walk or even stand in them!

playing "so big" with Mommom

It was a long, exciting day for Isaac and even with managing to keep his 2-nap schedule, by the time Daddy sat with him in the rocking chair as everyone was leaving, he looked quite ready for bed (until he saw Mommy had the camera, and of course he had to be a little ham...)

The Monday after Easter was a beautiful Spring day! We got to spend a lot of time outside...swinging in the hammock, crawling in the grass (and trying constantly to eat it), and splashing in the water table.

He also had some time to play inside, where he drove his car from Aunt Margie while walking his dog from Jodi.

It was also warm enough for Isaac to wear his new jammies from the Easter bunny.  Daddy was getting Isaac dressed after his bath and having a lot of trouble.  When Mommy went to check on him she saw Daddy had managed to put Isaac's pajamas on upside down - with his legs in the tight arm holes, and his arms in the leg holes! When Mommy pointed this out, Daddy tried again. Mommy went to check on him again, and this time he had them on sideways with one arm in a leg hole and one arm in an arm hole, and v/v. Sheesh! (in Daddy's defense this was the first time we've put Isaac in footless pajamas). Isaac just laid there patiently while Daddy finally got it right.

We're still struggling to get Isaac to keep his glasses on for very extended periods of time.  This series of pictures shows the typical progression.
