Spring Break 2015

Thanks to the weather our spring break was pretty low key and uneventful.  We had planned on going camping, but the weather forecast did not look very promising so we decided to stay close to home.

a rare moment with Lady staying close by Isaac

Opening Day at Camden Yards was on Friday.  In the morning we went out in our O's gear for a really yummy breakfast at Dusenberg's in Catonsville.  It was a really cute place and we can't wait to go back again for lunch.  Isaac was really good the whole time, playing with toys and checking out his surroundings while Mommy and Daddy enjoyed their food.

Then CharliePop came over in the afternoon to watch the game.  Despite the score, Isaac had a good time banging on the table and dancing with his mouth wide open and nose/eyes all scrunched up. Pictures and a video below:

Isaac is turning into quite a climber and adventurer.  He's always surprising us with his attempts to get his knee up onto shelves, our headboard, and the other day, his "book nook". He climbed up onto the pillow that's been serving as a soft and subtle blockade (for this very reason), then climbed into the nook to grab a copy of Goodnight Moon (which Mommy now has memorized from how often we read it. Isaac's favorite page is "goodnight mouse.") He's also surprising us by how tall he's getting, reaching those curious fingers up to almost-grab things that seemed impossible for him to get to just a few weeks ago.

Some other Spring Break happenings
Isaac got to "drive" Mommy's car in the driveway the other day.  He also got to eat a whole cookie! These healthy thumbprint cookies only have 3 ingredients and they're really good (recipe can be found here)! And, on the warmish days we've had, Isaac has been able to show off some of his new spring outfits and pajamas he got for his birthday and Easter.

Allie has to stay and eat outside while everyone else eats inside. Sometimes she gets a little...anxious watching us from the window.

Isaac absolutely loves his dachshund mobile.  He giggles in complete delight whenever he notices it, smiling and grabbing at it and looking back at Mommy to see if she sees it too.

Mommy brought Isaac in his highchair behind the counter to give him his first cooking lesson and show him how she prepared his lunch. He enjoyed half a grilled cheese, half a beet, and half an avocado. Now he knows how to make his own grilled cheese!

The weekend finally brought some sunny, warmer weather so we made it out for some walks and got Isaac on some swings.  On Saturday we had a family walk to Linthicum Park where Isaac and Daddy enjoyed some somewhat chilly time on the swings while the dogs kept watch.  Then on Sunday, Mommy and Isaac walked to Mommom & CharliePop's for a visit (we almost missed them - they were headed out for ice cream when they passed us walking and turned back around to meet us at their house!).  Then on the way home we stopped at the Crestwood park and had some more fun on the swings.  Isaac laughed and smiled the whole time.
