(almost) 16 Months

Even though Isaac is almost 16 months old, we finally made it in for his 15-month well visit.  He's maintained all of his percentiles, staying in the 10-25th percentile for weight at 20 lb. 15 oz., 50th percentile for height at 31 7/8", and in 75th percentile for head circumference. He is long, lean, and big brained! We had a bit of a mishap with his vaccination this month when he moved as the nurse put the needle in, scratching him and then having to double stick him.  Isaac was not happy, and both he and Mommy shed a few tears.  As a special treat for such a rough experience, Mommy let Isaac watch a few minutes of TV when we got home.
Here is a VIDEO of Isaac's captivation with the opening credits of Baby Einstein.

With a mouth full of teeth we have to be sure to brush them twice a day, and whenever Isaac sees his toothbrush or hears the word "brush" he automatically says "Ahhhh".  That's not to say he's completely cooperative for the whole process, but we're working on it.

Isaac continues to make his "rockstar face", only now he's started also making it randomly at strangers we pass while out in public.  It's partially funny, partially embarrassing depending on how the other party reacts! He also gives fist bumps now, and thinks it's hilarious to do so.

We've realized that Isaac's vocabulary may be a bit more developed than we gave him credit for.  His newest word is "out", but we also think he's been saying other words that we just hadn't really caught onto before, for instance he seems to always make the same sound indicating the dogs, and similarly so with things like hi and duck.

Last week we met Jarrett and Jodi for lunch at Play Cafe in Hampden.  This was the first time Isaac got to order off the menu at a restaurant (as opposed to Mommy packing his meal). Isaac got their TV dinner and half a grilled cheese sandwich.  The first 2 pictures are Isaac happily showing off his impressive spread, followed by the "after" shot of Isaac having eaten most of his feast. After lunch we went to the play area to check out the toys, but it wasn't quite the best place for two crawlers.  Soon enough once these two pals are walking (and not as interested in putting things in their mouths), we'll have to check it out again.

BFFs

Later in the week we had a family lunch at Farmstead Grill. Isaac was very good, casually reading his Babies & Doggies book after he finished eating his lunch.

Over the weekend we had several parties to attend. On Saturday we went up the street to a neighborhood party and met some neighbors we'd never met before.  Then on Sunday we went to celebrate Brandon's 21st birthday where Isaac had SO much fun playing outside.  He wore his white linen outfit that aunt Karen brought him back from Mexico.  He got to watch his big cousin Declan swim and jump around in the bit inflatable pool. Then he went swimming in the smaller pool where Declan joined him for a bit. After swimming he had fun toddling around the yard while everyone tried getting him to walk. He did take 2-5 steps here and there to everyone's excitement, but definitely seemed to be holding back a bit. He got to ride Declan's tricycle and push the popping mower.  He had a lot of fun with Corey and his girlfriend Kristen too, as he and Declan cutely competed for her attention.

Aside from all of these outings, we've just been enjoying time around the house with our funny, cuddly dude as you can see in the pictures below.

And here is a VIDEO of Isaac being very silly with a mirror. The funny thing about this video is that Mommy filmed it while her back was turned toward Isaac. You can see him look back to see if anyone is watching.  When he sees the coast is clear he goes back to his silly business. It's not until the very end of the video that Mommy turns around, and the stealthy ninja move Isaac makes when he realizes this is hilarious.
