Labor Day

We had a lot of fun family time over the 3-day Labor Day weekend.  On Friday, Mommom & CharliePop took the day off to watch Sweet Sir Isaac while Mommy taught her classes. Right before she left she caught this sweet moment of CharliePop and Isaac going for a walk around the block.

Then later that day Mommy & Isaac met up with Debbie at Kislings.  Isaac was so good hanging out in Debbie's lap, wearing her sunglasses, and showing a little too much interest in her beer.

It's been almost exactly a year since we went to Kislings with Debbie and Isaac paid the bill

Then on Saturday we took a family trip to check out Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis.  We played at the fun playground and went on a walk down to the water where we watched lots of "boat parties" going on in the water.

Saturday night after Isaac went to bed Mommy enjoyed some time with the fur-babies of the house enjoying a new book.

Over the weekend we also spent time planning out some outdoor play areas for Isaac.  We're going to relocate our container gardens (they're not doing so well where they are now anyway) and put in a sandbox, chalkboard and some other outdoor fun.  We are also in the works of possibly being gifted an old playset for the lower part of the yard.

"before" ..."after" coming soon!

enjoying some rainbow chard that Mommy harvested for dinner:

This guy just loves trees!

On Sunday we went back to Quiet Waters Park for their last summer concert of the year and saw the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra perform.  We packed picnic dinners and enjoyed some nice music while we ate.  Isaac was a great audience member, sitting contently enjoying the music,

Then on Monday we did some more work on the yard and spruced up our portico with some Fall plants. It was a family affair, dogs included!

before and after

Isaac is a happy jumping bean when he wakes up. Here are a few cute video clips:

(don't mind all the blankets that Isaac throws out of the crib when he wakes up.)

Throughout the week Isaac had lots of fun with Declan at Aunt Margie's and Sandy's while Mommy taught her classes. He also had fun and gave us lots of laughs at home.  He has been doing a lot of "mimicking".  Mommy has encountered several sprickets throughout the last few weeks, and has let out some uncontrollable screams.  Afterwards she's always worried that maybe the screaming startled or scared Isaac, but every time he has responded with his own version of a "scream".  No sympathy! He also got a hold of Mommy's (empty) coffee cup and trotted around pretending to guzzle the non-existent contents. He's also been getting a little bit better with using a spoon.

This is how everyone eats tomatoes, right?
sitting at the counter like a big boy:

Here's a video of Isaac playing in a laundry basket as if he doesn't even realize he's sitting in a laundry basket. Also, earlier this week Isaac took a spill while climbing the stone steps out by the pond and busted the bridge of his nose and his eyelid a bit which is a bit noticeable in this video clip.

Being outside is getting to be more and more important to Isaac. He often runs to the door and grunts to show he wants to go outside, and gets quite upset if that's not the plan for the moment. He also threw his first "I'm not getting my way" tantrum the other day when we had to leave the playground because it started raining and when Mommy let go of his hand to pull out her keys, he ran back towards the playground and got very upset when Mommy caught up with him.

exploring the water tower at Linthicum Park moments before the rain:

"Mamma, Dadda, Mamma, Dadda..." all day long!

What's in here??

Daddy came across some dinosaurs in his teacher stash and after a run through the dishwasher, Isaac got to check them out. He was quite fascinated with them!

And perhaps Mommy's favorite photographed moment of the week was during a visit to Costco yesterday where Isaac showed some major interest in their big, stuffed Carebears.  So Mommy grabbed her childhood favorite, Cheerbear, and put it in the cart with Isaac where he immediately leaned in and posed, completely making Mommy crack up and frantically dig around for her phone to get a picture.
