1.5 years old!

Isaac is 18 months...a year and a half...1.5 years old! When did that happen?? He has brought so much joy and laughter into our lives, completely living up to his name-meaning of "laughter".  He starts and ends each day with sweet giggles, with lots of fun and belly laughs in between!

Isaac has said quite a few words several times on just a few occasions, but he does say Mama, Dadda, and Mommom regularly (if not constantly).  The other day when he woke from his nap he called for "Mamma? Mamma?" when there was no response, it was "Dadda? Dadda?", and then, "Mommom? Mommom?" He also seems to have come up with a version of CharliePop which sounds more like Ba-pop. And he even has gotten "Mom-mom-mom" down pretty well.

excited to get to Mommom's & CharliePop's for a sleepover!

And while reading Goodnight Moon he's been saying "na-nigh" on the "goodnight..." parts. And during his last sleepover with Mommom & CharliePop (he's had several the past few weeks!), CharliePop taught him how to say, "shhhh!".  So the other night as Mommy got to the part, "and the quiet old lady whispering, "hush".", as Mommy leaned in to "hush" in Isaac's ear, he "shhhhh'd" right along with her! Some other words he's said recently are bath, apple, Buddha, and pine cone.

Isaac also seems to have finally reached the point where he's consistently sleeping through the night from about 7:30 pm until whenever we wake up, which is usually 5-6am. Once he hears one of us walking across our old creaky floors, he usually stirs awake in the morning. Daddy goes in to change him, and then puts him down on the ground where he beelines into our bedroom, and climbs in bed with Mommy for some morning snuggles and nursing.

At 18 months, Isaac weighs 22 lbs. 6 oz., is 32 3/8" tall, with a 19" head. In addition to his stats, we also learned a few other things at his 18-month well visit today. Dr. Beams noticed he has a few two year molars coming in,
but so far they don't seem to be bothering him too much. *knock on wood* Dr. Beams also gave us a name for Isaac's very sensitive, easily-marked skin: dermographia.  We also have a potential pine nut allergy we're going to be getting looked into.

Isaac's 12-month pants are definitely too short now, but he seems to be swimming in his new 18-month clothes, especially the tops.  There have been several times he's woken up from naps with at least one arm out of his shirt as they're so loose he can easily squirm out of them!  Hopefully he grows into them by the time the weather cools! His 18-month pajamas, however, fit just right with his extra thick "nighttime diaper" really filling out the bottom half. He has also figured out how to take off his diaper cover, which made for a messy wakeup from a recent pants less nap the other day!

Isaac loves books and being outside.  His days are full of both.  During awake hours, every Isaac-area of the house is usually an explosion of books. The other morning Mommy caught this great moment of Isaac relaxing in bed enjoying what appears to be a very suspenseful moment of Water Baby

When the weather is nice, he spends a good part of his time between naps and meals exploring the backyard or playing at a nearby park or playground.

We found a Radio Flyer "stroll & steer" tricycle over the weekend at a neighborhood yard sale.  Isaac loves it! He enjoys being pushed, and also just pushing it himself, climbing on and off of it, and putting pine cones in the trunk. What a great find!

Isaac had a really fun visit with Mom-mom-mom and great Uncle Tony this week too. He had a great time playing pat-a-cake with Mom-mom-mom, and tumbling around with the neck pillows again.

He also spent some time at Mommy's choir rehearsal last Monday.  Everyone was really happy to see him...and we didn't get very much practicing done until Daddy got there to pick him up on his way home from work!

This week at Sandy's he had fun climbing trees. He loves trees and he loves climbing, so I see a lot more of this in his future!

Isaac continues to be a good eater, although unless he's really hungry, we need to be a little creative with veggies, especially leftovers.  One of his latest favorites is cheese and squash taquitos.  He's also showing a preference to sitting in his booster seat at the counter vs. sitting in his highchair.
