Monkeying Around

lashes for days!

We've been trying to keep Isaac busy with Fall fun.  Last weekend we went to the Meyerhoff for the Toddler BSO with Jodi, Jamal & Jarrett.  Before the show there were music activities for the kids to play with.  Isaac just stared and took it all in. He was most interested in looking out of the floor-to-ceiling windows. By the time he warmed up it was time to go downstairs for the show.  For the first half of the show Isaac just sat quietly with Jodi next to his pal Jarrett who was really grooving to the music and giving very passionate applause after every number. These two have many concerts coming in their future!

We got some carryout from a new Mexican restaurant near our house called Toro Bravo.  While we waited, we all enjoyed some chips and salsa which is now one of Isaac's new favorite things. He also noticed a painting on the wall that he kept pointing at saying, "Mama? Mama?" Not quite, buddy...

On Monday Isaac got to spend some time with Grandpa Larry while Mommy played piano for a funeral.  They went on a nice long walk and tired each other out.  Isaac wound up napping for about 4 hours that afternoon! Thanks, Grandpa!

There was a Stop Hunger Now fundraiser at Chik-fil-A later that night where Isaac got to have his first fast food experience, all in the name of charity.  He gobbled down an 8-piece grilled chicken nuggets and a granola parfait.  He loved seeing everyone and showing off some of his favorite words: Hobbit, apple, and Mama-Dadda. He was extra excited when Ms. Ruthie helped him pick out a red balloon, and said Isaac "is just so lovable!" (We agree!)

The other day Isaac handed me a pair of socks from the laundry, and for some reason I thought it'd be funny to put them on his arms.  I expected he might laugh and then pull them right off, but he actually kept them on for quite a while and just went on with his regular business as if he didn't actually have socks on his arms. It was pretty entertaining.

Playroom fun, burying himself in monkeys and playing with his new vacuum:

After pulling out all of his pajamas, Isaac actually put them back in the drawer, which I caught on video:

Mommy learned recently that after she drops Isaac off at Sandy's or Aunt Margie's when she goes to work, Isaac points or goes to the kitchen and says, "eat!" This is funny for two reasons: 1- Isaac eats a pretty hearty breakfast right before we walk out the door in the morning, and 2- Mommy had never even heard Isaac say eat before. Now when Mommy asks, "Do you want breakfast/lunch/dinner?" Isaac responds with, "eat!". And when he has a particularly ravenous appetite, Mommy calls him Mr. Piggy, to which Isaac has started replying with oink-oink sounds.

Nothing to see here. Just wrapped up in diaper liners, laying in the big bed.
