Long Lost November

This November entry has been "in progress" for weeks now. Here are some photo highlights of some of our November happenings. Soon to follow is a post with a collection of some funny Isaac quotes.

Thanks to some relatively mild weather (50s-60s, no rain), we were able to get out on quite a few bike rides, even upping our distance a few miles each time. Isaac has proven to be a fun workout buddy and loves "reading" the different signs (he has mastered "stop", "no trespassing" and almost has "yield" down). Unfortunately our last bike ride ended with a horrible projectile vomit experience that has left Mommy a bit hesitant to get back on the bike in this chillier weather.

One of the reasons it was somewhat easier to say "no" to the cute puppies a few weeks ago was because of how much Isaac loves his "Allie girl". He has been particularly cuddly with her, often saying, "I love my doggie" as he snuggles with her. Here's a VIDEO of the two of them entertaining each other.

Here are some various shots from around the house this past month.

Some morning arts & crafts. Check out that impressive bed head. Here's a VIDEO of him being silly and chatty while working on his homework.

We have been making it to the Science Center about every other week, which is about half as frequent as Isaac would like.

A trip to the Science Center isn't complete without a trip up the "too many stairs" to Federal Hill park.

Here are a few pictures from an October outing with Daddy and Poo-pa to Maryland Million Day that we forgot to add last month.

We've had a few restaurant outings as well, where Isaac has been really into salad and burgers. Before one of our Science Center outings we went to breakfast at Blue Moon Cafe in Fells Point. Mommy thought for sure he'd enjoy the Captain Crunch French Toast pictured in the menu, complete with a huge pile of fresh fruit, but he instead insisted on the "Sweet Baby Jesus" (pictured below across the table from him), which was a decadent hash of crab meat, cheese, and eggs with hollandaise sauce. Isaac and Mommy shared it!

We had another dinner outing with Poo-pa and Grandma Jean at Olive Grove where Isaac ordered a burger, and proceeded to eat like a champ (after loading up on all-you-can-eat salad!)

Later in the week we went to White Oak Tavern with Mommom, where Isaac again (by choice!) filled up on salad and a very delicious burger.

And after one of our Science Center outings we checked out the coffee shop across the street where Isaac was very adamant about having a chocolate muffin. Luckily they had one that he happily devoured!

Whether we're dining out, or dining at home, Isaac loves to eat! (He may look a lot like his Daddy, but he sure has a lot of Mommy's traits!) One night he got to make his own mini pizzas for dinner, which he was very excited about. He showed a reasonable amount of self control when it came to putting the toppings on his pizza and not just eating all of them. Here's a VIDEO.

Per Isaac's request, we had a campfire dinner one night. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire pit. Isaac sat with Daddy while Mommy fixed him up a hot dog. Isaac was served first. Then Mommy made a hot dog for Daddy, which Isaac quickly claimed as his own, gobbling down all of Daddy's hot dog and then all of his own! Where does he put it all??

The month winded down with Thanksgiving fun! Isaac was very excited to for the holiday as the day got closer saying, "I love spending time with my family" (!!!!). He enjoyed the delicious meal that everyone contributed to, and had a great time playing with Declan and making a Christmas countdown chain (thanks to the help of Brandon and Corey...these pictures give the illusion they did it all by themselves!)

Then Mommy made her traditional day-after-Thanksgiving feast at home, where Isaac continued to pack away the food. See the side-by-side before/after shot below!
before -- after

The Saturday after Thanksgiving Isaac was incredibly cooperative, giving us the chance to get all of our Christmas decorations up inside and outside! He spent a good hour completely engrossed in his new Fisher Price nativity set, playing with baby Jesus and his "Mommy Mary" and "Daddy Joseph". He set us straight when we showed him the 3 wise men, pointing out, "That's not a man. That's a lady" as one of the figurines carrying gold/frankincense/myrrh definitely appeared to be a female magi (or is it magus?). He also loved listening to Christmas music while he played, particularly amused by "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas".
