9 Months Old!

Wow! I know, I know, we say this every month...but seriously, where has the time gone? Each month brings more and more laughs and smiles from Sweet Sir Isaac, who is surely  living up to his hashtag.

Some of his latest stats and tricks...

  • weighs approximately 18 lbs and is about 27 inches long (we'll get the exact measurements after Christmas at our 9 month well visit)
  • he's crawling pretty consistently on all fours, but still occasionally reverts back to dragging himself with his arms
  • he can go to sitting from crawling and vice versa with ease
  • he is starting to pull himself up on furniture and with assistance can hold himself up standing
  • has different laughs ranging from a "heh" grunt to a full-on rolling belly laugh
  • makes all sorts of noises from squeals to groans to a new sound that resembles having a hairball in your throat...something only Isaac can manage to make sound cute
  • still has 7 teeth, but has been drooling a lot lately so we think more are soon on their way
  • loves looking at pictures of himself and other familiar faces.  He slowly registers that he recognizes who he's looking at as a smile creeps across his face.
  • loves to eat, especially when he sees Mommy is eating.  He will grunt and whine until she shares whatever she's eating (which makes shopping at Costco more challenging now).
  • he has figured out how to climb the step from his playroom into the family room
  • seems to understand certain words and phrases, such as "no" and "more" and "put your arm through" and "where's my nose?"
  • after catching up on his sleep from a very busy weekend, Isaac has only been waking once in the night. We are really hoping this is a new trend!!

As always we did our monthly photo shoot, and boy was Isaac a wiggle worm! Mommy is exhausted from trying to get him to sit still and stay safe.

We started trying to get a few good shots of Isaac in his elf outfit. This sequence of pictures should paint a good picture of how smoothly that went...

We tried a few more, and no matter how many silly sounds Mommy made, Isaac was much more interested in everything else around him!

Here he is with the rattle Mommy had for her first Christmas.  While Isaac was fascinated by the rattle sound he was more interested in trying to eat it, per usual.

Then we went into our 9 month shoot. As soon as Mommy would sit him down he would flop forward into crawl position which just wasn't a good idea on the chair.

Mr. Casual

He was also very distracted by the awesome "Isaac wreath" the Deboy's made, so Mommy brought that in for a few shots as well.

Even the dogs weren't safe, so the photo shoot was all-in-all short lived.

Mr. Wiggles wanted to show off how well he stands with a little help:

And how determined he is about climbing up that step:

downward facing dog?

Bye-bye!
