Oh, Christmas Tree

We've been busy getting ready for the holidays and starting new traditions with Isaac. Over the weekend we went to the stand and got our Christmas tree.  Isaac was very serious and focused the whole time, taking everything in.  As we walked past rows of Douglas and Fraser firs, Isaac finally reached out and grabbed one of the trees. It was the first one he showed any interest in (and it just so happened to meet our height and shape requirements), so we took it home! Isaac also got to hang out with his cousins Katie and Josie and practiced working the register and checking over price lists.

Then on Monday, Daddy took the day off so we could have a festive family day.  We were supposed to go to Jerusalem Mill in Kingsville for some Christmas photos but we had to reschedule since it was such an overcast day. Since we had already dressed him in the super sweet Christmas outfit that Mommom bought him  we tried to get a few pictures of our own, just not great shots as Isaac was extremely wiggly and chatty and kept looking everywhere but at the camera.

After Isaac took a nice long morning nap we went down to the inner harbor to check out the Christmas Village.  Christmas Village is a cute indoor-outdoor market modeled after a German holiday town. We walked around and checked out the different vendors and snapped some various photo ops, but we didn't linger too long as it was quite a cold day!

Then we went to check out the Indian lunch buffet at Bay Leaf that we'd been curious about for so long. Isaac couldn't get enough naan and tandoori chicken! Then it was off to see Santa at Bass Pro Shop. Even Santa complimented Isaac on his adorable Christmas outfit. And as Mommy predicted, Isaac was absolutely mesmerized by Santa. He sat on his lap without complaint and then just stared at him.  It took a LOT of noises and calling out from the photographer to get him to finally look at the camera and when he finally did he looked rather annoyed to have been interrupted from observing a pretty authentic looking Santa.  When Daddy got Isaac back from Santa he told him to be sure to show Isaac the picture of them throughout the year so when he came back to seem him next year he wouldn't be afraid.

After meeting Santa we checked out some of the other cool holiday fun at Bass Pro Shop.
