Pizza, Ponies & Parades

Pizza! Pizza!

Singing along with Devo, "yeah, yeah, yeah..."

Sweet Sir Isaac has been enjoying his 2nd ever Fall season.  Last weekend he had fun watching the Linthicum Day parade from the front yard as we watched Corey in his last Linthicum Day marching band performance.  Then we went across the street for the festival where Mommy had to work at her MOPS table and Daddy took Isaac around to check out the sights.  Isaac loved all of the Halloween decorations, and was very friendly with everyone Daddy stopped to talk to, including a lady at the Chesapeake Arts Center who he just walked over and reached up to. He wound up sitting in her lap for quite awhile while Daddy got information on some upcoming classes. The only character at the fair he did not care for one bit was the Chik-fil-A cow.  The highlight of the day was Isaac's first pony ride. For $5, Isaac had one very thrilling ride around the baseball field.  He grinned ear-to-ear as soon as the pony started to move, looking around excitedly to see if everyone around him saw what was happening.

Check out a poor video of his pony ride HERE.

"Uh-uh! Get me away from this thing!"

While out grocery shopping this week, Isaac showed his usual excitement at the balloons floating throughout the store. He got an extra thrill when he got to watch a bunch of balloons being blown up while we waited in line.  I guess the woman ordering the balloons was enamored with Isaac's joy because she wound up giving him one of her balloons, much to Isaac's excited delight. He proudly held his balloon and showed it off to everyone nearby.

We continue to have some great moments with books.  Isaac had a particularly interesting progression with a fish finger puppet book from the library.  For some reason the book seemed to scare him at first, with Isaac hesitantly pointing at the fish and then quickly pulling away squealing in fear.  The next day, he uneasily sat for a read through. By the end of the week, not only was he requesting the book, but he actually now leans in to kiss the fish with every turn of the page. Talk about a 180!

Isaac has been "caught" with his face in a book pretty regularly lately, which makes his teacher parents oh-so-proud.  He definitely prefers non-fiction and books with actual photographs.  Hop on Pop and Goodnight Moon have taken a backseat to Baby's First 100 Words, Dinosaur Encyclopedia and his National Geographic toddler magazines.

Aside from some cold, rainy weather this past week that kept us indoors more than Isaac liked, Isaac has been out on his trike, climbing trees, exploring the yard, and playing at the park on play dates with his library buddies.

Isaac discovered this awesome tree at the playground!

During all of the rain last week, Isaac created his own little toddler hurricane around the house.

he literally almost jumped his pants off

and this bench makes a great tap dancing stage.

Just assorted silliness throughout the house, snacking on raw squash, looking for trouble and losing one shoe at a time.

We've got to get this guy his own play kitchen.

Why can't I trot around with this Isaac-sized suitcase?

Yes, he's holding paws with Allie

Isaac went to his first bachelor party. Here he is with the groom-to-be.

And another monumental first: Isaac had his first carryout - Roma pizza from DiPasquales.

In other food news, Isaac ate this banana without taking his mouth off of it. Hard to explain, but here's the VIDEO.

Isaac keeps showing improvement with his language development.  He's been saying e-i-e-i for singing Old McDonald, but doesn't have the "O" down.  His babbling is also getting more complex. Here's a VIDEO of some recent dinner conversation.
