SAHM Week 1

Well, Daddy survived his first week back at work, and Mommy (and Isaac) survived the first week as a stay-at-home mom.  The week wasn't quite as productive as Mommy had hoped. But we're getting there as we get Isaac on more of a schedule, and the moments with Isaac watching him grow and develop bit-by-bit each day have made it all worth it.

Isaac has been paying attention a bit more for story time (although he looks a little unsure about this dachshund book).

Some of the best moments of the week were watching Isaac react to seeing his Daddy's face after a whole day apart.

Isaac discovered himself in the mirror and gave himself an adorable smile. (Sorry, I didn't capture this moment on camera). Isaac has also been spending a bit more time each day working out his arms, legs, and neck. And he has been reaching out and grabbing onto things.

Bath time has gone from pure misery, to tolerable, to dare-I-say enjoyable.

And of course, the visitors keep coming. This week Isaac got to meet Jackie and got to see Liz again.

And just a few more favorite shots from the week:

Growing!

Isaac had his 1-month checkup today. We were pretty surprised at how much he has grown! He was 8 lbs. 10 oz. and 21.25 inches (a growth of 2 lbs. 5 oz. and 2.25 inches since birth!). Even with all that growth he is still only in the 20-25th percentile for his weight.

After the doctor's appointment the family went to Wegman's to stock up on groceries for Daddy's first week back at work.  This was Mommy's first time in a grocery store since before Isaac was born! (Daddy has been doing a great job taking care of all the food this past month!)

Aside from growing, Isaac has continued to do a lot of napping & eating and Daddy has also been doing his neck exercises with him every day for his PT.

Daddy tries really hard but sometimes he just can't get Isaac dressed without some help from Mommy.

Yet another shot of Allie staying close to her new BFF.

The other day when Isaac was napping next to Mommy, Allie came up as slow as can be and snuggled right on in.

We're really going to miss Daddy when he goes back to work tomorrow!

Happy Easter!

We had a great first Easter with Isaac.  We started the day with visits from the Easter bunny.  Daddy worked really hard making a special homemade basket that Isaac will be able to use for years to come. He even included one of the painted bunny rabbits that Poppop Henry made years ago. Mommy really enjoyed seeing that surprise in his basket.  Isaac got quite a few stuffed bunnies and different teething items. He seemed to like his pat-a-bunny the best so far.

Everyone's special Easter goodies

This is Mommy's favorite shot from the day. It looks like Isaac is waving to the camera.

Of course we had to get a shot of Isaac sitting in his basket (just like Mommy was put inside her Christmas stocking for her first Christmas)

After checking out what the Easter bunny brought us we all got dressed up in our Easter outfits to head out to our family stops for the day. Isaac of course stole the show in his adorable seersucker suit.

Deep in thought over how handsome he looks?

Achoo! Isaac tipped over during the photo session after a sneeze attack. Too cute!

Our first stop was dinner at Mom-mom-mom's. Isaac finally got to meet his big cousin Declan.  Declan really wanted to play trucks with Isaac but Isaac was just too little. Maybe next year he will be a better playmate!

Finally got a picture with Mommom!

Sound asleep on Mom-mom-mom's lap.

Declan (looking adorable in his gingham shirt and tie) isn't quite sure what to think of this little guy.

Our final stop of the day was to aunt Kim's where he got to meet even more family!
