Two Weeks Old!

It is hard to believe Isaac made his grand entrance 2 weeks ago! And a busy 2 weeks it has been: full of visitors, sleepless nights, and surreal happiness.  Daddy has been doing an amazing job taking care of Mommy and the house chores as she's still in recovery mode from her surgery, and Mommy has been doing a lot of feeding and trying to capture as many moments in pictures as she can.  Isaac has just been busy being cute and making us smile.

We're all still trying to figure out the whole nighttime/sleep thing, as Isaac still seems to be most awake at night.  We currently have Isaac in a co-sleeper bassinet between us and of course his guard dogs can't leave his side, so they find space at the foot of the bed (and sometimes on the pillows between Mommy's and Daddy's heads). 14 legs in one queen bed attempting (or, hoping) to get 2-3 hour chunks of sleep. It has been interesting! Can you see that perfectly good dog bed in the background?
Isaac circa 3am - don't let the drowsy eyes fool you. He has no plans of sleep!

Isaac's umbilical cord fell off and he finally had his first real bath yesterday. He hated it! He did love sucking on his clean little hands afterwards.

We have also started trying out cloth diapering during the day to practice getting the hang of it. Even our newborn-sized covers seem to be huge on him at the moment.

Speaking of clothes, while Isaac isn't going to be able to make use of Mommy's old dresses that Mommom Patti saved, there are a few other sleepers and things that he's been able to wear from her 1982 baby collection.  Here he is in one of her old sleepers (looking a bit like Elvis with that collar):

Isaac got to meet his other great grandmother, Grandma Ernst and great aunt Gina today:
92 years apart and instant pals

And of course the dogs continue to stay wherever Isaac is.  Here are some more shots of them cuddling close to Isaac. (I swear I am not always on the couch!)

And to wrap up the 2-week spread, a few shots of Sweet Isaac snoozing away (during the day of course):

Gah! Those toes!
