Isaac's Baptism

gown and stole from Mommy's Baptism (and handmade by Mommom Patti)

Isaac had a very special and exciting weekend celebrating his Baptism! It was a beautiful day full of smiles, laughs, hugs & kisses...and lots of pictures!

Isaac wore the christening gown that Mommom made for Mommy's Baptism 30+ years ago along with the stole she embroidered, but Mommom added Isaac's and Daddy's Baptism dates to it to make it special for Isaac.

Allie insisted on being a part of the morning photo shoot.

The Mass was very special in many ways. Mr. Joe did the music, doing an amazing job as always and taking in all of Mommy and Daddy's suggestions.  Joe also did the music for Mommy's Baptism, and of course Mommy and Daddy's wedding as well.  Some of the favorites from the day were "Wade in the Water" (which Patty Griffin happens to do a version of) along with "Prayer of Peace" (which was the processional song for Mommy & Daddy's wedding).  Mommy played piano for a few songs too.

The rest of the Mass had lots of other special touches made extra special by the people involved.  CharliePop read the intercessions, Mommom Patti distributed communion and Isaac even got paraded down the aisle for all of his family and friends to welcome and admire.

Isaac's wonderful godparents Maurice and Amanda did a great job and Father Peter made the service personable and memorable with his insight and humor (even though he did call Daddy "Mark" a few times!).

Isaac was in great spirits for the whole day (with the exception of a fussy burst right before his actual Baptism...perfect timing) and appeared to actually be listening and taking it all in.

Debbie took beautiful pictures as always! It was really hard choosing which ones to include in the blog!

After Mass the sun came out (as Daddy promised) and everyone came back to the house to celebrate.  With 50 family members and friends this was our biggest party yet! Everyone seemed to enjoy the food and contributing to Isaac's prayer tree, while Isaac was a perfect host and just went from guest to guest happily being doted on and admired.

Amanda & Reese look like naturals!

I'm not sure who was having more fun in this picture, Isaac or Mommom!

Isaac's great grandmothers out-partied him!

Uncle Tom and Isaac seem to have a special connection

Here are some of the things Mommy made for the party...

Isaac's "Prayer Tree" really turned out nicely

We loved spending the day with our loving and generous family and friends and feel so blessed to have so much goodness surrounding us!
