Kermit & MISS Piggy

Isaac enjoyed celebrating his first Halloween. Mommy found a simple DIY idea for a Kermit costume that Mommom helped her put together, and then by chance, she found a Miss Piggy dog costume on sale at Petsmart to complete the theme.

Costume fitting at Mommom's:

Isaac got a lot of use out of his costume.  Last week we went to Liz & Derek's for dinner and then out to the Patterson Park Lantern Parade.  At dinner, Isaac played on his blanket and hung out with a cat for the first time.  Kitty and Kermit just sort of ignored each other as they shared the blanket.  Isaac seemed to really enjoy the cool kaleidescope-themed lanterns at the parade too. He was squealing a lot and laughing as Mommy danced with him to the drumbeats in the parade.

not sure what to think of his new frog "hands"

Then later in the week Isaac got to be Kermit again as he showed off his costume to great Aunt Margie, great great Uncle Tony, and Mom-mom-mom.

Finally, on Halloween proper he of course dressed up again, this time with Miss Piggy (AKA Allie) by his side.

Allie really is a good sport

Isaac was very fascinated by the blonde wig

Isaac spent Halloween morning playing with pumpkins and reading the 5 Little Pumpkins book from Aunt Margie. He seemed to really like the bright orange pumpkins in the pictures. We also spent some time sitting out in the front yard watching all of the school buses drive by.  The buses were full of screaming children excited to get home for trick-or-treating.

the gang played a "trick" on Mommy and wouldn't let her make the bed today

Then we had a family walk to Sandy's where we got to see Captain Declan all dressed up in his fireman costume.
Declan liked Isaac's "eyes"

Our final stop was off to Mommom's and CharliePop's where he got a few more great pumpkin books. Isaac enjoyed gnawing on his treat bucket and didn't seem to mind it didn't have much candy in it.

Finally, home to bed to change into our Halloween monster pj's from Aunt Margie:

While he didn't get much candy, Isaac got quite a few great Halloween goodies and cards celebrating his first Halloween.

And of course we tried the obligatory baby-in-pumpkin (or, as Mommom called it: "pumpkin pants") photo op to commemorate Isaac's first Halloween and likely the last time he will actually fit in a pumpkin. It was a very short lived moment as Isaac was extremely focused on eating the pumpkin.
